Cute Thing

My Squirmalicious does this really cute thing, she puts her forehead up against your forehead and looks into your eyes!

Going Out

Going out is so much fun for Squirmalicious...she is so curious and loves going out, even if it is just a trip to Costco.

Standing

Standing all the time!  Squirmalicious is crawling all over the place and pulling herself up to standing all day long...keeping her Grandma busy.  :)

First Kiss

A little boy at Storytime yesterday kept coming over by us and kissing our little Squirmalicious on the cheek!  She wasn't sure what to make of that but did try to steal his shoe.

Crawling at Storytime

At Storytime today, my Squirmalicious was crawling around with some other kids.  She even went after a girl's red Mary Jane's!

Crawling!!!

Whew...chasing after a crawling Squirmalicious has been keeping Grandma very busy!  What a happy baby now that she's figured crawling out!  So chatty and even clapping now!

Roly Poly

What a roly poly our little Squirmalicious is!  She just rolls all over the living room and forget about trying to change her diaper, she just keeps rolling over making it quite a fiasco trying to change her!  She sure keeps us laughing.  :)

Brilliant

We were watching the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse this morning and at the beginning Mickey tells everyone to say the magic words so the clubhouse will appear; I usually say them and then Squirmalicious looks at me but today she looked at me expecting me to say them!  Brilliant!

Sitting

My Squirmalicious is growing up so fast.  She has pretty much mastered sitting up; she sat on the floor playing for about 15 minutes straight!

Busy, busy, busy...

The last couple of weeks have been very busy, so much so that today was already our first storytime at the library.  My Squirmalicious and I had a nice time, lots of fun with other children, stories, singing and even bubbles.  I'm looking forward to going again next week.

Storytime

We went to the library today and got some audio books for Grandpa, Mommy & Daddy to help make their commutes easier.  While we were there we also signed up for Storytime for November.  Looking forward to many years of trips to the library.  Love my Squirmalicious so much!

6 Months Old

Miss Squirmalicious is 6 months old today!  Time is flying and she is learning so many new things.

Giggling

Our little Squirmalicious was smiling and giggling out loud while she was sleeping today.  I wonder what she was dreaming about?

Tired Baby

Today we went to the mall and Miss Squirmalicious loved it!  She was looking and looking all around.  She helped Grandma pick out some shoes.  She was so exhausted she fell asleep on the way home and was actually doing a little baby snoring when we got home.  So precious!

Squirming out of her pants!

My busy Squirmalicious was so energetic today.  She was rolling and squirming so much trying to crawl that she kept squirming out of her pants!

Outside Voice

My Squirmalicious has been practicing her outside voice, she'll be babbling and get louder and louder until she's yelling.  Today when I gave her Clifford the Big Red Dog she laughed and squealed with delight at the top of her lungs!  She is just too funny!

Always learning

Squirmalicious is always learning.  Seems as if she learns and practices new things almost daily.  She's started "g" sounds and today she was making a cute noise almost every time she inhaled.  She is also getting very good at sitting up.  It's so amazing to watch!

Raspberries!

Our little Miss Squirmalicious has been practicing and perfecting blowing raspberries all day long the last couple of days!  She is extremely good at it.  She used to love to watch Grandpa do it; she would laugh and put her hands on his mouth.  Now she is so happy to be doing it....such a cute pie!

Finally Back

Finally back online after suffering the sudden death of my computer.  Now I have an adorable little Netbook!

Miss Squirmalicious continues to learn and grow every day.  Her dexterity is getting so good; she loves the "Taggies" book and even can separate the tags.

Today we wet 2 outfits!  She did eat and drink a lot but it's rare to need a change of clothing, not to mention sheets and shopping cart cover.

All of her snuggling has helped Grandma to heal quickly.

Taking Care of Grandma

Miss Squirmalicious and Grandpa have been taking good care of Grandma this week after her foot surgery.  Grandpa has been the Granpy Nanny this week and made sure Grandma kept her foot elevated and iced as well as fixed all the meals.  Miss Squirmalicious has made Grandma feel so much better with all kinds of hugs and squirmaling!

Grandpa also put together the new high chair and Squirmalicious ate her cereal and pears so good in it.  Miss Squirmalicious just loves her Grandpa and enjoys spending so much time with him.  They're both going to miss each other next week.

Helping Grandma & Grandpa

Miss Squirmalicious has had a busy couple of days with Grandma and Grandpa.  Grandpa took off this week from work so we could get some stuff done before Grandma's foot surgery on Friday.  Squirmalicious was helping us...mostly by reminding us of what's most important, and helping Grandpa relax and laugh on his vacation.  She was doing an amazing job squirming all over Grandpa!

Giggles for Grandpa!

Grandpa had Miss Squirmalicious giggling like crazy today!  So adorable.  She is getting such good control over her hands; she would put her hand on Grandpa's mouth and he would do raspberries in her palm.  She would just laugh and laugh; take her hand away and then put it back for more to giggle some more!

Grandma is so special!

Grandma is so special, my Squirmalicious poops for me everyday!

Hungry Baby

Miss Squirmalicious was very hungry today.  She actually ate 8 ounces in one shot!  Later on she ate most of her cereal and applesauce and then still drank 4 ounces.  Today was also a good day for napping.  A trip to Borders Bookstore and Costco completed our day.  Daddy returned from his business trip and was so happy to see Squirmalicious!

Fussy

A sad and fussy baby this afternoon.  She was so tired but would wake up screaming.  Just wanted Grandma to hold her and rock her.  After about an hour and a half she had enough rest and was a very happy baby again; smiling, laughing and talking!

What is this in my mouth?

Miss Squirmalicious has been given the go ahead by her doctor to start eating cereal, fruits and vegetables.  Today I tried feeding her rice cereal and applesauce.  The look on her face was priceless; she didn't know what to make of it!  It's going to be so interesting to find out what foods she likes and dislikes.  Fun, fun, fun!

The Squirmalicious' Speech

Miss Squirmalicious has so very much to say.  She'll go on and on with such inflection and so many sounds!  Sometimes she even gets upset and yells...too cute.  I wish I knew what she was trying to tell us.  Her voice is so adorable!!

Sit up

Miss Squirmalicious has been very busy this week.  When drinking her bottle, many times she's trying to look all around and wiggle and push her butt up in the air.

If she's not laying down squirming around and rolling over, she wants to sit up!  She tries to sit up in her car seat and in her infant seat.  When being held, she insists on being upright.

Cutie Pie

My Squirmalicious is such a Cutie Pie. She is the most adorable grandbaby.  I love to watch her sleep.  She makes the cutest faces and sometimes smiles and almost giggles!

Good day

A good day with Miss Squirmalicous.  First, she had a big giant poopy diaper for her Daddy just before I got to their house!  Always considerate of her Grandma... ;)

We did some laundry, went shopping and played.  She kept trying to sit up in her car seat, along with moving her legs like a maniac!

Precious Gift

My Squirmalicious is just so adorable, I love spending my days with her.  She is learning new things everyday and is such a happy baby.  She was making new sounds today and putting multiple sounds together.

I thank God every day for this precious gift!

Squirming out of her pants.

A sleepy baby today.  Didn't eat too much but did enjoy her teething kitty, chewed on her hands a lot and needed her pacifier quite a bit.

Miss Squirmalicious did manage to turn herself around in the playard and in the process almost squirmed herself out of her diaper and panties!  Baby butt crack...now that's cute!

Monkeys jumping on the bed...

Miss Squirmalicious rolled over from her belly to her back today!  There was much frustration getting there and she looked surprised when she did it.

The song "No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed" came on her Pandora radio station and when I sang along she really liked it.  Later in the day we were playing with the Sock Monkey and he sang the song and acted it out.  Next Miss Squirmalicious was jumping on the bed and was so happy that when I put her down and kissed her belly all over she actually laughed out loud!  So adorable!

Out and About

We went to Grandma's doctor appt and after that to Wegman's.  Miss Squirmalicious seems to love being out and about.  Later in the afternoon, after being a pee pee head so we had to change clothes and sheets, we had a nice trip to the library.

A Very Good Day

We had a very good day, including visiting with Auntie J who was promoted to VP.  Miss Squirmalicious was so excited she rolled over to her left for the first time.

Later on she decided to toot in Grandma's face while getting her diaper changed!

Exhausted!

Miss Squirmalicious was so exhausted after a big weekend partying in NJ with Mommy & Daddy.  She could barely keep her eyes open and cried very sadly when she needed to eat or be changed.

She was sleeping on our bed while I ironed and suddenly woke up screaming, very upset.  She was soaked and so was Grandma & Grandpa's bed.  She was not happy to be cleaned up and went right back to sleep once she was changed.

By the end of the day she was her usual self, laughing and talking and squirming!

Repeat, repeat, repeat.

Eat, sleep, pee, roll over, try to crawl, get frustrated, pee, eat, sleep, pee, roll over, try to crawl, get frustrated, pee, eat, sleep, pee, roll over, try to crawl, get frustrated, pee, repeat.....

Another Busy Day

Another busy day squirming, eating, sleeping, burping, pooping, snuggling, laughing and talking!  She turns over all the time now.  During tummy time Miss Squirmalicious is now pulling her legs up under herself and then gets frustrated...before we know it she'll be crawling!

A Momentus Day!

Miss Squirmalicious certainly lived up to her name today!  She was squirming so much a could barely get new diapers on, and that's saying something since I've quite a bit of experience.  I may only have 2 children but I am the oldest of 6 children, have 16 younger cousins, 17 nieces/nephews and did a fair share of babysitting.  I'm also old enough to have changed cloth diapers with pins.

Miss Squirmalicious squirmed out of her socks at least half a dozen times.  She kept squirming and squirming, until finally she turned over from her back onto her belly!!  Unbelievable!!!

An Ordinary Day

Today was just an ordinary day.  My Squirmalicious must be growing, just a lot of eating, sleeping, peeing and even pooping.

Of course there was much snuggling from Grandma!

The Pooping Chair

Miss Squirmalicious graced us with her presence for a couple of hours today while Mommy & Daddy worked.  She was hungry, sleepy and gassy.  We put her in her infant seat to chat with Grandpa & I while we ate lunch.  As I was cleaning up Miss Squirmalicous put on her red poopy face.  The craziest thing is that every time she's pooped while she was here, it's been in that infant seat.  We now refer to it as the pooping chair!

Playing with Grandpa

Grandpa worked from home today and Miss Squirmalicious had so many stories to tell him.  As soon as she hears his voice she smiles!  It's definitely mutual, seeing his granddaughter makes Grandpa so very happy.  They have wonderful conversations and laugh like crazy!

Monday

Miss Squirmalicious was a sleepy head Monday.  We went to Grandma's doctor appointment and she slept all the way there and all the way home!

A Few Extra Hours

Mommy & Daddy had some conference calls and work to get done so I got to spend a few extra hours with my Squirmalicious.

She is very busy learning all about her mouth and tongue!  Tries to put her whole fist in her mouth sometimes, sticks her tongue out, moves it all around her mouth.  When she's having some tummy time she licks the sheets and when cradled in my arms she licks my arm!

Always so adorable.

Rock & Roll Festival

Miss Squirmalicious was feeling much better today, especially after a giant poopy diaper.  Then she was in need of a nap and really likes rocking in her Grandpa's Catnapper.  Every 20-30 minutes she'd wake up and need some more rocking and rolling with some lullabies!

Our first week together was a success and I look forward to another week with my wonderful grandbaby.

Clogged nipple

My poor Squirmalicious!  She is a very slow eater and grazes all day but today she seemed to be eating for 15 minutes at a time, spitting the bottle out and occasionally burping or tooting but her bottle was never empty.  Now, she has discovered her tongue and is playing with it while eating but it was starting to seem like we had a miracle bottle that always had milk.  I know breast milk is amazing but this was crazy.  I finally realized that the nipple was clogged.  Now I'm thinking poor baby, she must be starving!  Filled another bottle but she only ate about 2 ounces, then burps and a grumbling belly along with some fussiness.  Her belly must have still been bothering her after giving her Mom a vomit shower the night before.  Only ate another half ounce and fell asleep for an hour and a half, mostly in Grandma's arms before Daddy picked her up.   It's so sad to see her not feeling well.

A Snuggle Bunny Day

Miss Squirmalicious was so energetic today that I could barely change her diaper!  She was so happy that she would stop eating to smile.  Using up all that energy tired her out and she turned into a Snuggle Bunny and took a really good 2 hour nap this afternoon.  Granny Nanny just can't get enough snuggles!

Day One

Today begins a new stage of life for me as the babysitter of my first grandbaby as well as a new stage for my son and his wife as working parents.  It was a huge day emotionally but mostly uneventful otherwise.

What could be better than spending the day with my Squirmalicious granddaughter?  She is so happy, so energetic and smells wonderful!  I've never seen an infant squirm and stretch and move so much, she's so much fun to watch.

I am truly blessed; I've a wonderful husband, 2 amazing children, a fabulous daughter-in-law and now the most adorable granddaughter.  I am so happy that I am able to stay home and babysit my Squirmalicious.

Someone once told me that I live a charmed life, they were right!
