Repeat, repeat, repeat.

Eat, sleep, pee, roll over, try to crawl, get frustrated, pee, eat, sleep, pee, roll over, try to crawl, get frustrated, pee, eat, sleep, pee, roll over, try to crawl, get frustrated, pee, repeat.....

Another Busy Day

Another busy day squirming, eating, sleeping, burping, pooping, snuggling, laughing and talking!  She turns over all the time now.  During tummy time Miss Squirmalicious is now pulling her legs up under herself and then gets frustrated...before we know it she'll be crawling!

A Momentus Day!

Miss Squirmalicious certainly lived up to her name today!  She was squirming so much a could barely get new diapers on, and that's saying something since I've quite a bit of experience.  I may only have 2 children but I am the oldest of 6 children, have 16 younger cousins, 17 nieces/nephews and did a fair share of babysitting.  I'm also old enough to have changed cloth diapers with pins.

Miss Squirmalicious squirmed out of her socks at least half a dozen times.  She kept squirming and squirming, until finally she turned over from her back onto her belly!!  Unbelievable!!!

An Ordinary Day

Today was just an ordinary day.  My Squirmalicious must be growing, just a lot of eating, sleeping, peeing and even pooping.

Of course there was much snuggling from Grandma!

The Pooping Chair

Miss Squirmalicious graced us with her presence for a couple of hours today while Mommy & Daddy worked.  She was hungry, sleepy and gassy.  We put her in her infant seat to chat with Grandpa & I while we ate lunch.  As I was cleaning up Miss Squirmalicous put on her red poopy face.  The craziest thing is that every time she's pooped while she was here, it's been in that infant seat.  We now refer to it as the pooping chair!

Playing with Grandpa

Grandpa worked from home today and Miss Squirmalicious had so many stories to tell him.  As soon as she hears his voice she smiles!  It's definitely mutual, seeing his granddaughter makes Grandpa so very happy.  They have wonderful conversations and laugh like crazy!

Monday

Miss Squirmalicious was a sleepy head Monday.  We went to Grandma's doctor appointment and she slept all the way there and all the way home!

A Few Extra Hours

Mommy & Daddy had some conference calls and work to get done so I got to spend a few extra hours with my Squirmalicious.

She is very busy learning all about her mouth and tongue!  Tries to put her whole fist in her mouth sometimes, sticks her tongue out, moves it all around her mouth.  When she's having some tummy time she licks the sheets and when cradled in my arms she licks my arm!

Always so adorable.

Rock & Roll Festival

Miss Squirmalicious was feeling much better today, especially after a giant poopy diaper.  Then she was in need of a nap and really likes rocking in her Grandpa's Catnapper.  Every 20-30 minutes she'd wake up and need some more rocking and rolling with some lullabies!

Our first week together was a success and I look forward to another week with my wonderful grandbaby.

Clogged nipple

My poor Squirmalicious!  She is a very slow eater and grazes all day but today she seemed to be eating for 15 minutes at a time, spitting the bottle out and occasionally burping or tooting but her bottle was never empty.  Now, she has discovered her tongue and is playing with it while eating but it was starting to seem like we had a miracle bottle that always had milk.  I know breast milk is amazing but this was crazy.  I finally realized that the nipple was clogged.  Now I'm thinking poor baby, she must be starving!  Filled another bottle but she only ate about 2 ounces, then burps and a grumbling belly along with some fussiness.  Her belly must have still been bothering her after giving her Mom a vomit shower the night before.  Only ate another half ounce and fell asleep for an hour and a half, mostly in Grandma's arms before Daddy picked her up.   It's so sad to see her not feeling well.

A Snuggle Bunny Day

Miss Squirmalicious was so energetic today that I could barely change her diaper!  She was so happy that she would stop eating to smile.  Using up all that energy tired her out and she turned into a Snuggle Bunny and took a really good 2 hour nap this afternoon.  Granny Nanny just can't get enough snuggles!

Day One

Today begins a new stage of life for me as the babysitter of my first grandbaby as well as a new stage for my son and his wife as working parents.  It was a huge day emotionally but mostly uneventful otherwise.

What could be better than spending the day with my Squirmalicious granddaughter?  She is so happy, so energetic and smells wonderful!  I've never seen an infant squirm and stretch and move so much, she's so much fun to watch.

I am truly blessed; I've a wonderful husband, 2 amazing children, a fabulous daughter-in-law and now the most adorable granddaughter.  I am so happy that I am able to stay home and babysit my Squirmalicious.

Someone once told me that I live a charmed life, they were right!
