Bronchitis

Here we are a couple of weeks later and not only is Major Cuteness very slowly recovering from bronchitis, so are Mommy and I. It's been a struggle.

Major Cuteness turned 4 and was so excited to have a birthday. Mommy & Daddy bought him a Hot Wheels Ultimate Garage that needed to be assembled. He kept asking, and asking everyone to put it together. I couldn't stand it any longer so I had to put it together yesterday afternoon. He was so excited that I was able to do it!

Daddy had dinner ready as I was finishing so he had to eat before he could play. He was stuffing whole meatballs into his mouth!

Bronchitis

Poor Major Cuteness has bronchitis. He's been telling us the last couple of days that he has a cough (with he does) and that he needs to go to the doctor. So concerned about the antibiotics harming his stomach again but so far he's spit most of it out, even with 3 adults holing him down as well as  his nose and mouth closed!

Halloween Parties

Today the kids had their Halloween parties. I went to Major Cuteness' preschool party. For months he's been all about super heroes and has been wearing his Superman costume regularly since he got it a month ago. I'm trying to help him put it on and he doesn't want to wear it! He's on the verge of tears because he wants to be a Police Officer like 2 of his classmates. Didn't wear his costume but snack and singing cheered him up.

Sunday Family Dinner

Today we started up the Sunday Family Dinner again. Life had just gotten so complicated and busy that we kind of put it aside. We plan to try to do this every 2 weeks. Since Heather is making dinners for the week so the kiddos can eat earlier, Grandma & Grandpa will make Sunday dinners. Today was meatloaf (we tried to convince Major Cuteness that it was the worlds most giant meatball with no luck), roast potatoes, carrots, & onions as well as roasted cauliflower, and autumn salad. The new tradition is a walk after dinner and then dessert. Success!!

Are You Better Grandma?

This week I had a bad cold fueled by allergies. Monday and Tuesday Grandpa and Daddy took and picked up the kids from school. It was hard for all of us but the kids kept asking if I was better. It was hard to keep them away from me as well as hard not to hug them. Almost better. Blessed to have family that loves me!

Early Dismissal

Miss Squirmalicious had a 2 hour early dismissal today and Major Cuteness had a Grandma day so we went to the South Mountain Creamery to get some ice cream and see the cows that make it. "The cows make the ice cream Grandma?" ;)

Hug

The kids have been eating dinner early at our house because they were always so hungry in the evenings and it was hard to keep them from snacking. It's been working out pretty well, especially since Mommy prepares dinner for all of us on the weekends. Today during dinner Major Cuteness leans over on me and says, "Give me a hug!" PRICELESS!!!

Donuts

Major Cuteness and I were heading shopping after dropping Miss Squirmalicious at school. She was sad that she wasn't coming so I promised a treat. She was so very happy when she came and their were chocolate covered mini donuts for her. Sweetheart!

Preschool

Major Cuteness started preschool today. He absolutely loves it. Orientation was last week and just before we were to leave he told his Grandpa that he was "too tiny" for preschool! After we assured him he was just the right size and age, his dad and I took him. Only took about 5 minutes he told his dad to "go home!"  Mom and Dad drove him and picked him up for his first day but when it was time to go home he said that he didn't want to go because Grandma was supposed to pick him up. Such a character!

Good Day

My Grandkids had a good day! They were both in a very good mood and so well behaved. Let's hope this is the start of something good. Love these cuties so much!

Library

In honor of National Library Month we went to the library and both Miss Squirmalicious and Major Cuteness got library cards!

You picked me up!

Major Cuteness was so happy to see me when I picked him up from preschool today! The first thing he said to me this morning was, "You pick me up from school today Grandma?" His first two days last week his mom on Friday and both parents on Wednesday picked him up and he was not happy about that! One day he hid in a playhouse outside and wouldn't come out and the other he had to be picked up and carried out! Can't say a grandma is too sad to be so wanted! ;)

Sorry Grandma

Without thinking I let Major Cuteness play games on the iPad on the way to school. He was having so much fun laughing out loud until as we pulled into Goddard he started vomiting. Poor little guy was so upset saying, "Sorry Grandma I puke, so sorry Grandma." I told him it's okay, puke happens.

Go figure...

We picked Major Cuteness up early from Goddard yesterday and today just after getting Miss Squirmalicious from kindergarten. All of a sudden he didn't want to leave because today they were reading books and then going out to play while yesterday they were watching Curious George.

Our Squirmalicious on the other hand really did not want to go to kindergarten. Arms crossed, doesn't like her teacher, school, YMCA, ended up getting help from staff to get her in. Picked her up and she was happy as could be! Had PE and went to the library where she checked out her first book.

Kindergarten!

OMG! How is it possible that my Squirmalicious started kindergarten today? Major Cuteness starts preschool next week!

I have been so remiss in keeping up with this blog the last 2 years. Once we found our Camelot, time was consumed with renovations, additions, selling, and moving. Still working on unpacking the garage and a full storage unit.

Miss Squirmalicious had a wonderful year in Pre-K! I enjoyed spending mornings and afternoons with her.

Major Cuteness was a joy to hang out with 2 days a week, he is so sweet! His health has improved tremendously and despite his limited diet he is growing and is sturdy as an ox! He continues to make great strides in speech, education, and trying new foods.

Grandpa & I are beyond thrilled to be living next door to our grandkids.
