5!

It's hard to believe that Major Cuteness is 5 years old today! We are truly blessed to have this wonderful boy in our lives.

Special Day

It was Major Cuteness' special day at Pre-K. He was so excited as usual. Every day he wants to know who's special day it is and when his is...just like his big sister! For his special day show & tell he brought in his new Gruffalo Book & stuffed animal. Mrs. Berry started to read the book but when she made an error, he corrected her and then recited the rest of the story. She said, "Wow! Just wow!" when I picked him up. He loves this book and has been reciting it word for word for weeks! 

Pumpkin Patch

Here we are at pumpkin time! Major Cuteness went to the Pumpkin Patch with his Pre-K class and Mommy today. Is it possible for a little guy to have too much fun? 

Another 1st Day of School

It's hard to believe that Miss Squirmalicious started 1st Grade today! Major Cuteness is now going to Pre-K! Growing up so fast, so cute, and so lovable!!

Library

Major Cuteness and I went to the library after gymnastics. He was so good! Promised he wouldn't complain when we had to leave and he didn't. Good boy!

Spiderman

Finally finished a little crochet Spider-Man for my Major Cuteness. Whew...that was the hardest project I ever did!! Next up (as he would say) a princess for Squirmalicious...here I go again!!

Gymnastics

Today both children started gymnastics camp. They're the only 2 in the class. Major Cuteness was so exhausted that he fell asleep on the way home. Miss Squirmalicious was having a tantrum because she wanted to stay the whole day like she did the first week that she went to gymnastics earlier in the summer. Mom arranged for her to stay the rest of the week.

Better Day

Today was a much better day for Miss Squirmalicious and Major Cuteness. Grandpa took her to camp and even though she was a little apprehensive she bravely went in and over to play.

Major Cuteness did a great job paying attention and listening to the coaches. Was hitting lefty and righty at T-ball!

Summer

Wow! Here we are at summer already. Squirmalicious has finished kindergarten and Major Cuteness will go to Pre-K in the fall!

Today started the beginning of 2 weeks of swimming lessons. We'll come home for lunch and then do something for the afternoon. Today we just went to pick Sita up from grooming and then Major Cuteness fell asleep on the way home. Squirmalicious played some games quietly. Then a little TV and a taco party!

Oh no, here we go again. Poor Miss Squirmalicious got in the car after school to tell me that she didn't have such a good day because her head hurt and so did her shoulder and the rest of her body. On the way she said she was hot so I told her to open her coat but she wouldn't since the teacher told her to keep her coat zippered up until she got home. Ice cream would make her feel better! She's her Grandma's girl. 😉 Getting her out of the car I realized she felt feverish. Rested in our bed with a cool washcloth on her forehead. Notice from school yesterday regarding strep throat going around. We'll see.

Major Cuteness was not himself today. We had to wake him up to start. He was not listening and running away from the teacher when I went to pick him up from preschool. He didn't even want to come with me. I had to pick him up and carry him to the car. Teacher said this behavior was the last 10 minutes, she didn't know why but he seemed tired. On the way home he talked about not liking anyone - the teachers, the kids, preschool, Grandpa. Had some milk and spent the rest of the afternoon resting his head wherever he went. I'm thinking he had a headache too. Grumpy boy.

Poor babies.

Moana & Maui

The kids went to see the Disney movie, "Moana" recently. With some Christmas money from Aunt Genie & Uncle Danny they ordered a Moana & a Maui talking figures. They have been waiting and waiting for them to arrive, asking Mommy to check the tracking. They finally arrived today! So exciting!!

Grandpa retires

Today both children were off of school for a teacher work day. Since Miss Squirmalicious was sick with a stomach bug yesterday we were being lazy watching the movie, "Secret Life of Pets." While we were watching Grandpa had to get on a work conference call and after came out retired! It's all good news!! This shall be interesting...

Still

Still sick kids. :(  Much better than yesterday so we spent most of the day playing downstairs in the playroom. Not much appetite but better energy.

Stomach Bug

We couldn't even finish getting over upper respiratory infections before starting with a stomach bug! Grandpa is finally almost recovered from acute bronchitis and Miss Squirmalicious has croup when both kids get stomach bugs. Major Cuteness wasn't hit too hard but whenever a bout of diarrhea hit he would go running to the bathroom confused, saying, "what's happening?" Poor Squirmalicious is so much sicker with the bug on top of the croup. She is looking so beat and is so tired. Couldn't keep anything down and was so sore from the diarrhea medicine was needed. I hope she's turned the corner after being able to keep down a couple of dozen oyster crackers.

Now I'm guessing Mommy and I are next for the stomach bug. :(

Halloween Super Heroes

We had fun today watching Halloween shows, making pumpkin pie, and a haunted house! Then they were off to trick or treat with Mom & Dad in Super Women and Superman costumes, while Mom & Dad were Batman & Batwomen! 

New Year, 1st Snow

What a whirlwind of a holiday season. Spent it in NYC with Aunt Jenn and Maurice from Nairobi. At first Squirmalicious and Major Cuteness did not want to go but we set up a small tree, Santa did find us, and then they didn't want to leave!

Had just over an inch of snow overnight so 2 hr. delay this morning since this is Maryland. They didn't want to go to school of course, just wanted to play in the snow. Then Miss Squirmalicious tried to convince me to pick her up early since Uncle Doug was coming tonight!
